DWS Brothers "Tackle Cancer"

DWS Brothers "Tackle Cancer"

11.14.2014

Palmer and Nolan Casey set out to “tackle cancer” during October.  The Deerfield Windsor School freshman and senior brothers organized a campaign to sell pink awareness bracelets during home football games and their teammates wore pink towels during the football game for community awareness about the need to support those facing breast cancer.

Through their efforts, $500 was raised for the Carlton Breast Health Center at Phoebe.  Proceeds will benefit breast cancer patients through the Albany Pink Crisis Fund.  Breast Cancer patients often face financial obstacles during their course of treatment and the Albany Pink Crisis fund helps ease some of the stress patients may face by helping with certain living expenses.  Phoebe Cancer Center social workers assist their patients by understanding any barriers, emotional or financial, that would impede their healing  experience.  This is one small way we can help treat the whole patient.  We offer support so that they can concentrate on their treatments and regain their health.  Palmer and Nolan recently presented their contribution to the Carlton Breast Center.
