Skidmore, a board certified orthopaedic surgeon, completed medical school at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, his internship at South Pointe Hospital Cleveland Clinic Healthcare System, his residency in New York at Northshore University Hospital, and his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Ga.
