Every Tuesday, patients scheduled for surgery meet with a nurse to go over what they can expect – from pre-op through physical therapy.
What you will learn at Joint Camp:
- What a typical patient experience consists of
- Equipment you will see while in the hospital
- How that equipment will be used
- Expectations are also discussed
- Available types of therapy, including pain management
- Care after going home
Patients who attend Joint Camp are better informed and typically have fewer incidents of infection and pneumonia. They also have less anxiety prior to surgery.
