The Giving Tree Prominently
located in the main elevator lobby of
the hospital, The Giving Tree is a unique way to recognize
donors or to show affection of donors for friends and
family to which they wish to pay tribute.
Hanging from the branches of this exquisitely hand-carved
teak tree are numerous gold leaves, intricately placed
to form the tree’s distinctive shape. Each leaf
of the tree represents a gift of $500 engraved with
the name of the donor or person designated by the donor
to be recognized.
At the base of the tree are a small number of stones.
The large stones represent a gift of $1,000, while the
smaller stones represent a $750 gift, each inscribed
with the name of the donor or designee.
Those honored as designees by donors receive an acknowledgment
of their recognition from the Phoebe Foundation. Gifts
may be designated for a particular area of the hospital
or the Foundation can direct the gift to the area of
greatest need.
