Q:
Can I give something besides cash?
A: Absolutely. Many
of the gifts to Phoebe in the early years (though
we don’t actively solicit these today) were
game, livestock and farm products used to feed patients.
The hospital is honored to accept gifts of securities,
real estate, retirement funds, insurance policies
or tangible property such as jewelry or other items
of value. |
Q:
In what forms can I make a gift?
A: Gifts can be made by check, credit card,
money order or stock transfer. Credit card gifts
may be made on our secure website on-line or by telephone. To arrange a transfer
or inquire about another form of giving, call us
at 229-312-4483 or 1-877-312-4483. Click
here to donate online. |
Q:
Are there tax benefits to giving?
A: There are generally significant benefits.
Any gift for which you do not receive goods or services
is fully tax deductible. The tax benefits of different
types of gifts can vary, but the professionals at
the Phoebe Foundation can provide information on
each type. For specific information on your particular
situation it’s best to consult your financial
adviser. |
Q:
Can I designate where my gift goes?
A: Yes. You can designate your gift for a
specific program or part of the hospital. Unrestricted
donations give the Foundation the flexibility to
direct resources to the area of greatest need. We
will be happy to work with you to ensure that your
gift is used in a way that satisfies both you and
the hospital.

Q:
How do I make a gift to honor the memory of a family
member or friend?
A: A gift of health care is a wonderful way
to honor a loved one, friend or special person.
When you make your gift to Phoebe, tell us who you
wish to honor with the gift. It may be a loved one,
friend or a member of the hospital such as a doctor
or nurse. If you wish to have the family of the
person notified, please provide us with the appropriate
information. |
Q:
How are donors recognized for their support?
A: In addition to receiving an acknowledgment
of heartfelt thanks for their support of Phoebe’s
mission, donors are recognized in a number of ways.
The Distinguished Leadership and Donor Recognition
Gallery located near the hospital entrance prominently
displays the names of Phoebe’s supporters. Donated
equipment displays a nameplate honoring the donor.
Endowments can bear the name of the donor or their
designated honoree, and large gifts allow the donor
the opportunity to name facilities, equipment or
programs. |
